We have Medicare registered psychologists and social workers available. Medicare Australia through the Medicare Benefits Schedule now provides funding for  therapy and  focused psychological strategies including relaxation techniques, skills training and interpersonal therapy to eligible patients. Under this Medicare scheme, you will only be required to make a gap payment as you do when you visit your GP.

To be eligible you need to be referred by your GP who has written a formalised Mental Health Care Plan or Extended Primary Care Plan depending on your condition.  You can also be referred by an eligible psychiatrist or pediatrician.

Many private health insurance policies ancillary cover will also pay for some psychology, counselling and psychotherapy services (consult your policy provider for details).
